After graduating from Aberdeen University, I joined Edgen Murray Europe Ltd. as an HR Project Assistant and within 14 months I was given responsibility for the UK Human Resource and Payroll function.

In addition to providing me with the opportunity and challenge of taking on this increased responsibility, the company supported me in gaining the necessary skills required for the role, including funding my Masters degree and Chartered qualification in Human Resources Management.

Working in such a fast-changing and dynamic company means that there is never a dull moment and every day is different, challenging and interesting. Case in point, last year I needed to quickly learn about UK immigration and propose how best to migrate staff from Australia and the US to the UK.
